A look back at Alaska

Hi Blogging friends. It has been a busy half a year for me.What can I say I seem to have fallen off the blogging habit.I have a new laptop that I have yet to enjoy and can’t quite downsize my pics!Since I have been frustrated I am using Facebook and Instagram to show what I have been up to.

In August we went on a wonderful cruise to Alaska and Victoria B.C. It was so much fun . I also helped out at the San Diego quilt show with our exhibit of hooked rugs.
We have discovered camping again which is such a treat.I love to Rug hook when we go camping and also work on small quilting projects. Here are some pictures of my travels. Hugs cheri

Hi Cheri, it's so nice seeing a post from you again. Your Alaskan cruise sounds wonderful. Those train ride through the mountains gives me the shivers. I'd be scared to fall off the cliffs, lol...

I hope that you can sort out downsizing your photos on your new computer. I'm so untechy and sometimes it takes me many, many tries to sort things out and some issues, I can't fix myself because of fear I'll do something to make things worst. I'm still having issues with my new computer.

Is that your chicken rug I see in the rug display? You always do such a great job.

I've been worrying about your safety in the wildfires in California. I'm glad to know that you are OK.
I just started to blog again after a long absence. I understand how difficult it is to return after a long absence.

Stay safe, Hugs, Julia

Hi Julia, The fires are about three or four hours from us. We got lucky this time. The problem with California we get these Santa Ana winds in the fall and they get the fires quickly out of control. Yes that was Lady Violet rug. We were camping so much and so I decided to give the girls to a lady that lives a couple miles away who had a chickens that had quit laying. Violet and the gals got a great home llamas horses other chickens and I swear this lady was a chicken whisperer.
I miss them but don’t miss the 6 o’clock wake up call.
I am still trying to fiquered out downsizing my pictures. I feel so foolish.
I am glad you are back to blogging too. That flood looked bad at your home. I hope it’s gotten better, hugs cheri

Nice to see you blog again. I've never been to Alaska or British Columbia.
I lived in northern California for 3 years and thank God did not have any experience with fires. There was a drought and fines would be served to anyone who watered their lawn ~ but again, no wild fires. Glad you have managed to evade that devastation.

Hi Saundra and Lauren, yes Alaska was beautiful. We’re going on a vacation to Port Ludlow and Puget Sound Islands in May. I loved the cold weather.
Wildfires are a constant worry and where I live in the easy county of San Diego we are near the foothills in Crest and is a constant threat.
I am going to keep trying to fiquered out the computer photo editing.
