Well Life is always more scary then monsters or things that go bump in the night. Last week as I lay in bed I heard a soft knock at the door.I had overslept and it was about ten in the morning and Maulie was barking like a good watchdog or as good as a little shitzu can.I live on a dirt road and my yard is fenced we never get anyone at the door! It's a bother to open the fence and walk up the steps to the deck and the house. Well as I grabbed my clothes I decided to peak out the window. For some reason I just felt very uneasy....
So as I peaked out the window I saw a tall man middle aged at the door he was turning around and as he walked out the gate I noticed another man near our cars.I think listening to your intuition is a must.
I called my husband at work and said two men who kinda look like detectives had been at the door(I think I thought detectives because I have been reading too many mystery stories) They looked serious and for a second I worried maybe something had happened to a family member. Nobody ever comes to our house believe me.By the time I opened up the door and was on the deck I thought for a second one of the men looked like my brother then when I saw the other man I realized that wasn't my brother. I noticed there was a black Suv type car across the street and as the men left they were looking around the road like they had never been around the area. It troubled me alot and that is why I called my hubby because I thought something was terribly wrong. Well I called my friend Deb in Missouri and she thought it was odd too. All of a sudden Hubby was at home he had left work because he was worried about me.
I told my girlfriends and cousin and just kept feeling nervous about those two men and glad they had not noticed me on the deck after they had left my yard and believe me I haven't slept in when Hubby goes to work.I just kept wondering who were they?
Well I got an email for our neighborhood watch person for Crest apparently two men have been going around Crest posing as missionaries and then breaking in.Sometimes you just get a feeling that tells you something is not right. I felt that way that day and the days after that. I kept wondering to myself why did those men rattle me so much enough for my husband to hear the fear in my voice and leave work. When I saw that email I shivered. They had broken in to a house in Crest.
Someone was looking after me.

Last Tuesday I saw the the cutest hooked rug. Donna went back east for the Atha rug hooking event I think it was last year and she got this pattern there.Donna did such a wonderful hooking job!
(I love it because it reminds me of Morris my orange cat.)
Donna is the rug hooking teacher at the loft and her colors and hooking are just the best. There was so much talking and projects to look at that I missed parts of conversations. I have been so so busy this last week. My girlfriend Linda was a life saver she worked on my garden railroad and cleaned the overgrowth of Rosemary and I hauled all the plant debris from the railroad away on Friday. After lunch we were off to iced tea at Summer's Past Farms. We ended up going up the backside of Crest and saw a
Native Plant sale sign. So we went exploring found a place called Crestridge a 3,000 acre Ecological Reserve. More about that this week.Sorry I have been a bad blogger but between knitting class homework and working on my garden I am a mess.Lol I hope all my blogger friends that are back east stay safe during the hurricane.Hugs Cheri

After the quilt show in Ramona on Friday Linda and I stopped by Walter Anderson's Nursery In Poway.I bought three Lavender plants and took some great pictures of their wonderful big Garden Railroad. I have a little garden railroad that I am restarting it and so I was inspired by all the trains and plants in this wonderful garden railroad.I have always love miniature's and the feeling you get when your transported into a small world. The world you create in miniature's whether it's doll houses or garden trains always leaves you with a taste of a world of fantasy and a relaxing time enjoying the process of stepping back in time and being a child again.
I think this is some kind of grain building
This garden railroad is huge and very inspiring

It seems funny as these weeks go by I feel like one week I am a hermit on a hill and don't want to go anywhere but the front yard and knit class. The next week I am busy and running around like a crazy lady.I have been reading alot of mysteries I find myself going to the library to pick up DVDs and books at least once a week!
I have discovered the Inspector Lewis mysteries which I love. What's fun is when I know who is the fiendish murderer before he is revealed.. My hubby is not so impressed with the Inspector Lewis series it's too mild for him but me I love that it takes place in England and Oxford the relationship these different detectives have with each other. It was PBS series so I started with year one and now I am on series four. Were finally getting some Fall weather and it's even raining today thank goodness this was the longest summer of humidity and heat. I woke up this morning with the fog all over the place. The yard was misty and it was wonderful.I actually had to put on a sweater on.This past Wednesday I enjoyed the Hobo Quilt class I have so far finished 10 blocks and have 10 to go. It was a nice group and it was a relaxing evening. Now back to my homework for knit class!
Enjoy your Sunday Hugs Cheri
