Well it started with a good day

Let see I have been super busy trying to garden in humid weather which makes you feel  a little droopy with sweat. Southern California is having some unusual super humid weather that gives you no energy. Yesterday my girlfriend and I went to Point Loma to get out  of the heat.We had a great lunch of clams and  watched this really huge seal begging away for fish. This California seal parked  herself right next to the Point Loma fish market and knew a good spot to get handouts as she gazed up at the tourists and locals. Mama seal had a cute youngster and it was such a fun site to see the both of them. There were seagulls, fishing boats and people enjoying the hot day .What a relaxing site Point Loma is.The seals enjoy the marina because the fishing boats come and go with bait and the people are glad to see some ocean life .

Well this morning I looked at  Rug hooking daily and saw a super rude comment about my rug Egg and I and I felt horrible. Believe me the colors are not so fluorescent and the rug looks so much better in person.I really like it.It got me thinking. I have been reading books about primitive rugs and they all have a common theme using what wools you have .Experimenting with color. It makes me wonder do you play it safe with every rug or try different things out?  Do you recall the saying our moms said if you have nothing good to say don't say anything at all. Hummmm...

Last night was a wonderful lightening storm it was beautiful and right over our house. Hugs Cheri

Your rug is great, and thank you for sharing it with us. Rug hooking is a fun HOBBY until some over analytical individual critiques your rug, who made this person an expert? Wow, your so awesome you can make perfect rug hooking loops--get a life buddy, no ones impressed with your hideous wide cut rugs, you probably crank out one per day and it shows!

Thank you for sharing your rug its beautiful. I just hope that some over analytical person will not discourage you. Rug hooking is a fun journey, but it is also a hobby for most of us, so when someone critiques it as though they are an expert it makes me laugh, are they really that impressed with themselves that they can pull a strip of wool perfectly, REALLY, get a life!

Thanks I was so discouraged. It bothered me all morning and then I realized that there was so much love in that rug. The colors I put in my rug was because of knit camp which had more colorful yarn colors. One of my knit teachers had pink hair!It had to be different. Thanks again,Hugs Cheri

Cheri,
Don't let that person's comment bother you.... he's left very rude and hurtful comments on my blog and others so it isn't the first time he's done this. I would think Heidi the Rug Hooking Daily moderator would reprimand such rude behavior. Your rug is wonderful!!
Give it and yourself a special hug from me today!!
Sweet Blessings!!

Oh....I'm so mad I can hardly contain myself. What is wrong with people? Arrgh. If the commentor is who I suspect it is, they are well known for leaving insulting comments on other hooking blogs. Makes me think - those who can hook do, and those who can't just insult.
I'm really sorry this happened to you.

I for one love your rug, do not be discouraged you are a very talented rug hooker. Some people are just plain RUDE, and JEALOUS. You have a friend in Maine, Julie.

What good friends you all are! I was really upset i worked so hard on it and it has so many happy memories. It's different yes but if you saw it in person it has the same color value and looks good. Thanks my fellow hookers.Hugs Cheri

Cheri I love your little egg rug! It has such personality and life to it...every rug is an adventure for the hooker...

My rugs are predictably prim and as drab as I can get them...but that doesn't stop me from admiring the spirit and colors of art from another artist...

Pity the fool who can't see the beauty of your work!

Thanks, Your rug looks great. Antique rugs used all sorts of colors and used what they had. It's a great little rug and I am doing another rug that will be different with darker colors. It's a fun hobby and such nice people are having fun expressing themselves and their experiences.Happy hooking!Hugs Cheri

I am so sorry someone was so thoughtless to leave a bad comment about your rug. It always hurts. You hook beautiful rugs and you have just amazed me with your colors since I started hooking. You know I put those kind of people in the camp of the ones who never look at the front of a stitchery but always turn it over to look at the back. They of course would never pick up a needle or a hook but they are all filled with advice.
I do hope it cools off soon, this has been so hard this summer with all of the heat and humidly.
I am glad you took off the day and had somewhere cool to go too.
Just keep hooking because you love what you do. :)

Good grief what a boring world it would be if everyone used the same colors and did everything same way. I LOVED your rug and I prefer the colors you used in that rug over other rugs I've seen. It's art, it's not supposed to be like everthing else. It's unique. Don't let people like that bother you again, ya hear me?
