Mountain Maulie

Were almost to the top of Maulie's Mountain!

                                                         Maulie's Mountain

                                                Maulie and Hubby's destination!

On the way up Maulie's Mountain it's probably
a  hill but to Maulie it's a mountain.

This is looking down at Crest as they walk higher!!

Looking down at Crest.

Their still climbing
This summer were sure to have some wildfire worries. It's humbling how your at the mercy of Mother nature everywhere. But with the beautiful parts of this world you have to take the good with the bad. I like being away from lots of people under foot . I love the sound of  hawks and chickens laying eggs. I especially enjoy people riding their horses by. I  appreciate living in a smaller town and having a church I can walk to or a library a couple of houses away. I am a pretty content person who enjoys the simple things of Life.

So here is a man and his dog venturing into the outdoors again. Jack wanted me to know even though they are out on the trails he sees people walking their dogs on the trails. He took his cell phone. Lol
Jack said it was a steeper climb then he thought.

                                                            I  am somewhere in there!

                                                        On top of Maulie's Mountain

Be sure and click to get a better view!

Maulie happy to have gone to the top and going home!

Maybe it's me but what's in the brush!

I wonder what Maulie is looking at.

                                                                    The trail was rocky!

Their off the mountain and coming home!

Thanks for the great photo Cheri. It's funny how Maulie is lagging behind going up and is in the lead going down.

It reminds me of an old black dog we had as a child. In the winter we would hitch him on the little sled and we would go up the field to the edge of the forest on crusted snow and he took his good old time getting there but when we would tell him to go home he would pull the sleigh at top speed and of course as kids we thought that it was extremely funny and we would laugh and repeat the whole procedure again. Hi Julia, That reminds me when we would go riding at a stable the horses could hardly wait to get home. How is the weather? Is it going to be like 2008? Thinking of you,Cheri

Well, I'm glad to hear that the cell phone made the trip this time! LOL That looks like a pretty ambitious hike for little Maulie. But the views are breathtaking.

Hi Kim, I have a picture of Maulie at the top and I didn't post it because she looked exhausted poor baby.Maulie's tongue was drooping! She was a happy girl when she got home every time she gets her summer cut she gets loads of energy. That's why it's Maulie's Mountain she earned the name.Their staying close to home it's 80 today and they'll be walking in the neighborhood. Good for Maulie for making this mountainous trek! My poor Gus would just keel over. The pictures are beautiful. Your landscape is so different than ours here in New England. I just love how many different types of land we have in our country.

Hi Lauren and Courtney, San Diego county is so unique because we have desert, mountains, beach less then an hour away. I love New England an hope some day to see it. I have been on vacation to Washington D.C Virginia and Gettysburg. Someday I'll get to New England. I want to see the midwest too! I love history.I'll have to get to Fort Rosecrans and take a picture of our light house sometime. Lol Cheri

hi cheri, thank you for reading about my silly little 'brit babe'. i love her like you do your maulie. what a little trooper you have there! are there mountain lions or snakes? you photos are lovely and the landscape is so very different than ours. i have just followed you and look forward in reading more about your maulie. :)

Hi Kritter Keeper, There are rattlesnakes in Southern california and mountain Lions.Mountain lions are hidden you rarely see them.coyotes are more of a danger. This is spring and most snakes aren't out . Maulie and Jack will be not going up the hills pretty soon because it will be too hot. Maulie and Jack will be sticking in town more on their walks. I too love my little animals. I had no idea how far Maulie and hubby were going on their walks.Yikes poor Maulie!Cheri
